Serving as Jesus Served

Any time you use your talents, your abilities, your background, your experiences to help somebody else, you know what that’s called? Ministry. And you know what you are? You’re a minister. All Christian women are ministers. All Christian men are ministers. All Christian children are ministers. And we are meant to minister together in teams because none of us has all the necessary gifts.  An effective ministry team is one in which every member serves like Jesus served.

What does it take to learn to serve like Jesus? Three things.
1. Be available. If you want to be used by God, if you want to serve God, you must be willing to be interrupted. Almost every miracle Jesus did, He did because He let Himself be interrupted.
2. Be grateful. An attitude of gratefulness that God has given us a ministry helps us see the opportunities that are ever before our eyes.
3. Be faithful. Don’t quit when the going is rough. Finish the race.

Near the end of his earthly life, Paul tells Timothy “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)

Let’s live our lives so we can say this as well!
