Who Are We?
The best way to find out more is to follow Jesus’ encouragement, “Come and see!”
When you walk in our doors, you will find a warm welcoming community. We span all ages and connect intergenerationally. Our senior members have much wisdom and life’s experience to share; we value and honor them.
Our pattern for Sunday worship is 2,000 years old. While ancient, it’s not stuffy or stiff. There’s something deep about continuing two millennia of tradition and mystery, worshiping every Sunday in the same way as hundreds of millions of Believers across the globe.
We teach and form our young people to be disciples of Jesus. We want to develop in them a lifelong love of the Word, a life of fellowship with other Believers, and a passion for helping others.
We want to love our city and its people well. There are many great opportunities to plug in and serve others in need. A big, beautiful life is a giving life.
Here at Christ Church, we aim to organize our lives around Jesus. There is a way to lead an unhurried, contented life, overcoming the challenges and rapid pace of the daily grind. There is a way to become a mature, fruitful disciple of Jesus. There is a way to remain calm when triggered and to hear God’s voice in every situation. There is a way to give of ourselves without becoming totally exhausted. Together we are pursuing this beautiful Way.
Human beings were not made to live at the speed of modern life. It’s not healthy for us or for our families. We need to slow down. We need to sabbath. We need to connect with Jesus and make Him our center.
Jesus doesn’t want fans. He wants followers. Apprentices. Jesus apprentices us into the life of His Kingdom. We follow, as apprentices, by Being with Jesus, Becoming like Jesus, and Doing as Jesus did.
This is a journey we’re all on together. Some are further along, and some struggle, but we’re here for another. You’ll find companions on the way wherever you are.
You don’t need to clean up to show up. Come just as you are. You can stumble. Jesus loves imperfect people. So do we. Everyone here is imperfect. We look for Jesus to heal the bumps and bangs we’ve experienced in life. You’ll find authenticity and sincerity here. We’re all a work in progress.
So, if you have questions, if this sounds interesting, message us or better yet, “Come and See!’ We’d love to share the hope and joy we have found in following Jesus and welcome you into a community pursuing His Way.
