On Jesus’ last night with His friends, He could have basked in their love, felt sorry for himself or tried to escape. Rather, He did something strangely profound: stripped down like a humble servant, Jesus washed the feet of His friends. Jesus made his intention very clear.

“If I have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet,” Jesus said. “I have given you an example, that you should do just as I have done to you” (John 13:14-15).

God’s call to serve others means meeting people’s immediate, physical and emotional needs before we settle questions of faith, belief, and doctrine.

“If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” (James 2:15-16).

Christ Church ministries and members serve by volunteering, advocating and providing financial support for the unborn, children in need, teenagers in trouble, the poor and the hungry, those in need of housing and community development, and those in prison and the persecuted church–working through ministries, missions, and agencies such as:
